Smoke alarm legislation changes - as at January 2022
From 1 January 2022, the Queensland Government introduced the Smoke Alarm Legislation that applies to all new and existing residential properties (homes, apartments, townhouses and condos).

Queensland smoke alarm legislation guidelines include
-When replacing or installing new smoke alarms they must be photoelectric
- Smoke alarms more than 10 years old must be replaced
- Faulty smoke alarms must be replaced immediately
